After a very dry September, the weather took a change this week with some rain and cooler temperatures. That is a sure sign that the time to travel is nearing. While our time here is getting shorter we are still having a great time with family and friends. We played euchre with the old card club, one of the things we really miss when we are traveling. We also got together with the Wednesday lunch bunch and Nanc and the ladies did a road trip to Ohio for some fall shopping. We had my brother, sister-in-law and another friend to our place for his birthday dinner and went to Wheeling, WV for a fall festival. All fun things to keep us very busy.
Tim, Georgie, Tom and Di at cards. Is someone sneaking a peek at Di's cards?:)
Mary Lou, Mike, Sherri and Nanc around the card table.
Di with her pumpkin pie that not only is great looking but was also very tasty.
The ladies on the shopping trip. Who's the witch?
Jim, Marlene, Rick, Denise and Nanc at Rick's birthday celebration. We had not seen Marlene, who Rick and I grew up next to, for a couple of years. It was a fun evening getting caught up with what has been happening in everyone's lives and celebrating Rick's birthday with some Alaska halibut.
On Sunday we drove to Wheeling where our friends Karen and Donna were selling their great handmade KARADONNA jewelry at a festival. It was a fun day, but as you can see by their coats it was very chilly.
Here are a few pieces of their beautiful jewelry.
We have made our travel plans for when we leave at the end of next week. We are first heading north (crazy I know) to Cleveland for the last Yanni family wedding. Then still farther north to Michigan for a service appointment at Spartan Chassis. As soon as the work is done we are sprinting south to Betty's for six weeks of Cajun fun.

What a delightful blog post, full of friends, food and activities. Glad to know you will be on the road soon, even knowing we won't see you again this year. Someday I hope.
